"" Welcome to the Latin American Textiles of the Field Museum website. The collection comprises close to 3000 objects from Meso, Central and South America. The most ancient textiles are from the Nazca culture of Peru, circa 200 B.C. to 600 A.D. The collection continues to grow as we acquire contemporary pieces from diverse cultures where we are conducting research. We also continue to acquire private collections as a result of generous donations.

The current image gallery, while small, will expand as time and resources permit. We encourage scholars and aficionados to contribute comments on these textiles in usage. We would like to include references to publications for further study, as well as historical or contemporary photographs of these textiles in use that we may be able to add to the website. We also welcome suggestions for further images from our collections that users would like to see included here.
